Role details

What you’ll be doing

You will be one of the first senior engineers hired in our Helsinki team shaping how Groweo’s product works under the hood. Your work directly impacts:

• How our data is structured and scaled as we move from thousands to millions of monthly events

• How business users and consumers experience our platform through fast, reliable APIs

• How we transition from outsourced development to a highly aligned internal product-led team

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing scalable backend services using TypeScript – and in some areas Python where it fits our architecture,

• Architecting event-driven, serverless, and distributed systems (AWS)

• Shaping data models for high-volume environments

• Building secure authentication & authorization flows

• Creating maintainable, testable, production-grade backend code

• Ensuring reliability, observability, and smooth CI/CD

• Working closely with designers and product to iterate quickly

• Helping build the core product to a scalable next-generation version

• Identifying and fixing bottlenecks – from loading times to data flows

Your typical day might include…

• Reviewing a new design with the product designer and proactively flagging backend implications

• Implementing a new core feature from scratch, not just small tweaks

• Pairing with frontend to make sure flows work end-to-end

• Solving quick “small but high-impact” issues surfaced by Customer Success

• Planning API changes to support a new consumer-facing flow

• Improving data structures to handle new volume requirements

• Refining the long-term roadmap together with product & tech

• Tech Lead & Senior Engineers (peer-level, no micromanagement)

• Our designers (strong product thinking, consumer-quality standards)

• Product team & customer-facing teams for deep cross-functional collaboration

Benefits & practical details

• Compensation: 4500–6500 €/month salary (depending on experience)

• Location: Helsinki office in the city centre

• Schedule: 4-day workweek (Mon–Thu) with full 5-day salary – every weekend is a long weekend

• Onboarding: On-site during your first months to build relationships and understand the product deeply

• Hybrid option: After onboarding, 1 remote day per week if you prefer
